Stage Management Essentials (3-part workshop series | Feb 24, 26, 28)
Learn or brush up on the essentials of stage management. Perfect for both emerging & established theatre & event management professionals.
Join professional stage manager Lore Green for a 3-part series of workshops that will cover the essentials of stage management. The workshop will run Feb 24, 26, and 28 from 6-9PM each night. Cost for all three sessions is $185, total, which includes all materials and processing fees.
Topics will include the basics of prepping, rehearsing, and calling stage productions and events. The final day of the workshop series will include a tour of the Mary Irwin Theatre at the Rotary Centre for the Arts. Cost of the workshop includes all materials, though participants are encouraged to bring notebooks and their own writing utensils.
This workshop is designed for individuals who are interested in learning more about professional practices in stage management and we encourage those new or interested in stage management; those working as stage managers with no formal training; emerging and professional stage directors, technicians, and producers; event managers; and community planners working with stage production and event companies to attend.

About the Instructor:
Lore Green holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Production; Stage Management with Distinction from the University of Alberta and has worked on various shows across Canada. Selected credits include: A Christmas Carol, West Side Story, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Canadian Premiere), Sense & Sensibility, Hadestown (Canadian Premiere), Silver Arrow, and Peter Pan Goes Wrong (Upcoming) (Citadel Theatre), Timothy Findley’s The Wars, Mamma Mia and Titanic: The Musical (Grand Theatre), The Graduate, The Great Gatsby, and Grease (New Vintage Theatre). She has especially loved becoming part of the team at Pyretic Productions and bringing the new work Blood of Our Soil from its workshop performance to its Edmonton Premiere and then Toronto Premiere. As well as working on straight plays and musicals, Lore has had the pleasure of working as part of the stage management team for The Calgary Stampede for 3 years, The CN100 tour (Calgary), and the FIFA 2011 Opening Ceremonies. Lore was also the resident assistant stage manager for Orchesis Dance Group for 5 years. Lore absolutely loves working in theatre and live events and delights in learning something new from each show.
