Sonderous at Lucky Bar w/ Kosm and Kings & Cobras
An intricate while not overly sophisticated concoction of some diverse musical minds who find common ground in delivering music that has weight and power. Led by a frontman who uses the project for a vital catharsis, the band supports and uplifts the lyrical content with passion and creativity, resulting in music that is interesting in detail but primal in feel and vibe. The band thrives on what's next and don't set rules on what genre the band should fit into, rather they're only guided by what's inspiring them to write. Each song has something different to offer as they continue to explore new musical ideas. But be sure that you will hear everything from shredding guitar solos to quiet clean intros, metallic guitar riffing, heavy drums, slap bass, guitar harmonies, melodic and harsh vocals, dynamic songwriting and if you care to listen, some interesting story telling.
A progressive metal band hailing from Vancouver BC, Canada. Combining influences from Mastodon, Tool and Gojira, their sound is dynamic and unquestionably lethal. Since their induction in 2016, they have been making their mark in Vancouver’s metal scene as a force to be reckoned with.
Their first release, 2018’s “Cosmonaut” was an album loosely based on the Lovecraftian myth of Cthulhu. Following this, the band released 2019’s “Eyes on the Inside,” an EP based on the world of Bloodborne. With more material in the works and future albums planned, KOSM summons you to join them on this journey of experimental and progressive metal.
Kings & Cobras
A modern style hard rock band with tasteful elements of prog carefully sprinkled throughout crushing drum parts, dirty riffs, soaring leads and powerful, visceral vocals. While having carefully thought out parts to fit two guitars, a bassist, a drummer and their vocalist in comfortably, they manage to keep a natural feel to their music and don't lose the groove. Their songs are diverse and it's apparent they don't set too many boundaries on what they can sound like. With that said, you'll find yourself hearing lots of inspiration from bands like Tool, Karnivool, Pineapple Thief with a mix of more "straight to the point" sounding badass rock. In other words, you'll be intrigued by the intricacies, but you will also wanna buy one of their beer cozies.
