Queering Genogram Training
The Queering Genogram Training is a training designed primarily, but not exclusively for counselors and social workers who would like to improve or include a new model for the purposes of assessment and a visual aid for transformation for your client(s). This model specifically moves away from the nuclear family paradigm of family systems that include all sexual, romantic, relationship orientations and gender diversity. This therapeutic and assessment model has been validated from both community based and peer-reviewed research.
All attendees will learn:
• How present genogram models stand up to present diverse models?
• Why and How this model was Developed?
• Review of Queer, Trans and non-monogamous family system
• What is the Queering Genogram Model?
• And you will learn how to create your own Genogram Model.
All attendees must have a basic LGBTQ2S+ Training and ideal if you have had some Genogram training in the past.
About Your Trainer:
Corey Keith’s pronoun are per & pers. Per provides passion, experience and knowledge through peer counselling, Life Coaching, consulting, and workshops in the areas of sexual, and gender diversity since 2006. In 2006, per co-founded and facilitated the first ever Sexual and Gender Diverse agency in Central Alberta – Central Alberta Rainbow Youth. Since this time, Corey continues to provide hundreds of hours to providing support, education and advocacy in relation to sexual and gender diversity. In 2010, per was one of the leaders of the successful Vancouver Trans Forum. Corey taught in the Bachelors of Social Work program, Sexual Orientation and Gender Expression, in 2013 and again in 2015. In 2009, Corey received a Bachelors of Aboriginal Social Work from Nicola Valley Institute of Technology. Corey then received a diploma in Professional Counseling in 2011 from Rhodes Wellness College. In 2016, Corey finished pers Masters of Education. Today per continues this work through transforming our understanding of relationships, sexuality and diverse to create a more whole and equitable society
