POSTPONED Chapters Rideau Author Event
Danielle Michaud Aubrey introduces three children’s books with imaginative stories of day-to-day adventures with human and animal characters that teach a life lesson, illustrated by Nadia Ilchuk.
These stories are a very satisfying read for children ages 6-10 with about 2,000 words each, or about 20,000 words per book.
The story-telling is in the style of classics like The Adventures of Peter Rabbit or Winnie the Pooh which are vehicles for learning about community, compassion and collaboration.
- every-day activities with a challenge or a difficult situation.
- talking animal characters involved with human characters in adventures.
- lessons about teamwork, safety, helping others and kindness.
Ms Michaud Aubrey (BA Sociology, Carleton University, BA Psychology and Women's Studies, University of Ottawa, MA Conflict Studies, St. Paul University) pursued a career in the Federal Public Service, and as a mother and grandmother knows children’s behaviour and feelings well.
The three books The Impish Squirrel, The Pact and Khalil’s Dream have about 100 pages and ten stories each. Hardcovers are published by Petra Books.
