Jason Carter is Nehiyaw from Onion Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan, Treaty 6 Territory. His pursuit of education in health studies began in Edmonton, AB, where he discovered the Medicine Wheel at Nechi Institute Centre of Indigenous Learning, AB and found his passion in spirituality and culture. He moved to Brandon, MB where he completed a Bachelor or First Nations and Aboriginal Counselling Degree. He currently resides in Toronto, Ontario and continuing his graduate studies. He has sundanced for 10 years and is on a healing journey. By learning from Elders and continuing his indigenized education, he is certified in the following:
