OTL Tinkering School PD Day Camp
Let your kid spend PD Day in a supportive learning environment at the Ottawa Tool Library (OTL) in November. We have a low child to instructor ratio (6:1) and focus on environmental education and developing tool skills.
Find colour in unexpected places and learn to paint with plants you can find in your own backyard! Open to children aged 8-12 years old, this full day workshop will take participants through the process of making natural plant-based inks and using them to make their own original artwork.
All materials will be provided and participants will get to take home their hand-made creations!
What to wear and bring:
- A packed lunch and snacks
- Water bottle
- Closed-toed shoes
- Fitted clothing that’s ok to get messy
Space is limited for the first Tinkering School workshop, so be sure register as soon as possible!
We will offer PD Day workshops every PD day, so please sign up to our newsletter and/or follow us on social media to be the first know what we offer.
We can accommodate early drop off at 8:30 am and late pick up until 3:30pm. Please get in touch if you need this.
A follow-up workshop will be held from Saturday, November 30th from 1 - 4 pm where kids will be upcycling used framing materials to build our own custom picture frames.
Participants can frame their artwork during this workshop, or bring along another artwork or image to frame. We’ll be learning beginner woodworking skills and making use of recycled materials to create something new.
The OTL Tinkering School is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable learning experience for all.
Before selecting and signing up for a workshop please be sure that your child understands that the activities will require their attention and maturity. We are working with tools that must be used carefully to ensure everyone’s safety. If you have any questions, please be sure to contact us.
