About your Instructor:
Yvonne has been a Pagan since 1985 and a Wiccan since 1991. She has an MA in Contemporary Religions and Spiritualities from Bath Spa University (UK), and has recently moved to Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. She has written four books on the mythology and folklore of trees, birds, and animals, and two anthologies of poetry. She is the author of the book in the event photo, “All Acts of Love and Pleasure; inclusive Wicca”. Her most recent books are "Dark Mirror: the inner work of witchcraft" and "The Night Journey: witchcraft as transformation". She blogs at Dowsing for Divinity.
This will be an afternoon intensive workshop exploring how we can make Wiccan ritual more inclusive for people of all genders, sexualities, and physical conditions. We will discuss what aspects of Wicca can be Excluding for LGBTQ+ people, the evolving nature of tradition, and what adaptations many Wiccans have already made to make ritual more inclusive. We will also explore different ways of making magical energy, using polarity, resonance, and synergy.
inclusive Wicca (please note lower-case i, as it is not a separate tradition) is a tendency within Gardnerian and Alexandrian Wicca, and other Wiccan traditions.
This will be a hands on workshop experience with group activities. A great introduction for those curious about Wicca, especially inclusive practices. As well, a great workshop for church, coven and group leaders.
Yvonne will also have some of her books available for purchase.
