Greg Halpin is a fixture of the indie music scene in Montreal, having performed in various bands including Honheehonhee and Lakes of Canada. He has also released a solo acoustic album called Notes From a Bedroom. It was recorded on cassette tapes in his bedroom and to promote it he tour across North America playing concerts in people’s bedroom. As a solo artist, he has been described as Montreal’s best and most intelligent guitar player with original compositions that are as compelling as his playing.
Ryan Stotland is an economist, philanthropist and a prolific and unique songwriter from Montreal who is one half of the economist indie duo The Bull and the Bear and the main songwriter for his more recent project, The Fall Line. His songs touch on a plethora of subjects from professional hockey teams to the economic recession of the early 2000s to bagels and which ones are better, Montreal or New York style. His songwriting is the definition of originality and his wit dislodges guffaws stuck deep in your gut.
Andrew is mostly an actor. And a director. Early in life he realized his friends were better songwriters than he was, so he stopped trying. Instead, when he wasn’t thespianing, he focussed on producing concerts, in rooms not at all dissimilar to the Rocket Science Room. Over the years he’s hosted the likes of Sarah Harmer, Leif Vollebekk, Torquil Campbell, Justin Rutledge, Jill Barber, Matthew Barber, Noah Reid, Royal Wood, Jadea Kelly, David Myles, and Bahamas. He’s hoping that some of their talent has rubbed off on him as he prepares to record his first album this spring. He directed Greg in the musical Once a little over a year ago. Greg played a busker and, perhaps unsurprisingly, killed it.
Rocket Science Room is on the second floor. There is a single flight of stairs off the main entrance with no wheelchair access, however there is a functioning elevator on the main floor. If you require assistance of any kind, please let us know! We'd be happy to accommodate any of your needs to the best of our ability.
