Fritjof Capra’s Systems View of Life Course
The Capra Course, based on Fritjof Capra & Pier Luigi Luisi’s textbook, “The Systems View Of Life”, is being offered in Victoria in a group setting (CBUC) with facilitated discussion and a regional focus.
“Systems thinking,” involves thinking in terms of relationships, patterns, and context. It is the kind of thinking that is crucial to our understanding of living systems of any kind — living organisms, social systems, or ecosystems. The Capra Course is a succinct overview using a systems lens, of emerging ideas, principally in biology, psychology, sociology and ecology.
Physicist, systems theorist, educator, activist and author, Fritjof Capra, Ph.D, has integrated these systems concepts and ideas into a single coherent framework, which he will teach for the FIRST time in this online course. Following the course, alumni are invited to join the growing international network of systems leaders through the online CapraCourse platform.
“We have discovered that the material world, ultimately, is a network of inseparable patterns of relationships; that the planet as a whole is a living, self-regulating system.”
Space is limited to 200 students from around the world.
We acknowledge with respect that this course will be held on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples, specifically the Songhees, Esquimalt and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. All our relations!
