Toronto Tour - The Insider's Guide
We meet our small group at the whimsical dog fountain in Berczy Park, a short walk from Union Station or King Station. Guests get a feel for the Old Town area, it's early history, and learn the stories behind the dog fountain, park, and buildings along the way.
Absolute magic next as I will guide us through over 200 years of history and food at the world famous St. Lawrence Market, where we will eat some of the foods that put it on the map! Guests get to choose their own lunch, from some world class cuisines on offer inside one of the finest markets on Earth. Options include Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Canadian oysters, Montreal style bagels and more. Meet the vendors, learn the secrets and indulge! You can't start an afternoon in Toronto any better, and i'll be sure to make sure you see the market like no other!
Next we will visit buildings not listed on any tourist map and I will take guests back to the early 19th century for some hidden treats from colonial-era Canada! From the Old Town of Toronto, skyscrapers suddenly crowd the streetscape and guests learn the lesser known facts about the inner workings of the Canadian economy and the skyscrapers in the Financial District. We may venture down into the PATH system of underground tunnels buried below Toronto!
Explore roaring 20's Toronto, skyscrapers made of gold (literally!), and much more! We finish with a fully narrated water taxi/ferry journey to the Toronto Islands. The Toronto Islands are a short water journey away from Toronto's harbourfront. A collection of 15 natural and man-made/assisted islands, including residential communities, theme park, petting zoo, sandy blue flag beaches, nature walks, a disc golf course, and most importantly the best views of the Toronto skyline! A true and peaceful gem away from the hustle and bustle, and a perfect place to finish! Guests return back across on the ferry at their own leisure or together.
**PLEASE NOTE**-- The ferry ride and Island trip will be replaced with a visit to the Distillery District and Toronto Light Festival (when in operation - until March!), during times of very bad weather. This tour will go on in any weather if guests are present, but the ferry ride and Island visit will NOT go on in bad winter storms and poor visibility!

Guests are advised on items for lunch, given their history and such, however the final decision lies with the guests themselves. By agreeing to purchase this ticket/tour, you waive all responsibility on myself and Experience Toronto Tours, and assume the risk of eating foods from licensed vendors inside the St. Lawrence Market. There are plenty options for anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions.
The ferry ride to the Toronto Island is the responsibility of the City of Toronto, and is managed and operated as such. You enter a public space using a transport vessel on your own free will, and all liability is thus on the City of Toronto and their public ferries.
