Kirstin Veugelers, PhD, is on a mission to help patients and their loved-ones get results from our stretched healthcare system. Kirstin personally experienced the frustration of navigating the healthcare system to address her own health issues. Now she bridges the gap between patients and medical care providers, drawing on her patient experience, paired with her knowledge and skills from careers in biochemical research and university teaching. Kirstin attends medical appointments to make sure that information is clear, and then follows up to make sure next steps are manageable. Kirstin also educates on how to get effective healthcare through public speaking, blogging, and other opportunities to share health navigation tips.
A portion of the proceeds raised from this event will be donated to Caregivers Alberta.
