This course is open to DGC Members and non-Members who are in the process of applying for DGC Membership. If you are applying to the Guild Apprentice Program, do NOT take this course as it will be part of your training within the program.

This one day course is divided into two modules, designed to provide you with the necessary information for working as a Member of DGC Ontario.

Part 1:  DGC Ontario Orientation

This orientation for new and re-joining Members is designed to help you get the most out of your Membership.  Topics covered will include information about your Membership, such as Retirement Plans and Health & Welfare Benefits, your responsibilities as a DGC Member, learning about the Standard Agreement and Rate Sheets, a review of paperwork (deal memos, timesheets, etc), working as a DGC Member, and meeting members of the DGC Ontario staff.

Part 2:  Building A Respectful Workplace

This portion of the course will provide you with information on proper workplace behaviour, with a focus on Workplace Harassment and Discrimination.  Topics covered will include prevention, legal and union aspects, and protections from Workplace Violence and Workplace Harassment in the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
