A Design Thinking Studio
Help us determine what a STEAM Learning Ecosystem could look like in the Okanagan!
A STEAM Learning Ecosystem (SLE) is a way to remove barriers to the access of STEAM education. By bringing together an entire community, a comprehensive, integrated initiative provides the architecture for cross-sector learning by identifying STEAM educators in the private and public sectors and link them to in-school and out-of-school initiatives — building STEAM-rich learning environments.
Symbiosis is a BC-based STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, Math) network of people, resources and technology. Weaving together both formal and informal education, this innovative learning ecosystem – the first of its kind outside the US – will become a vibrant model for scaling the kinds of learning and careers needed in a knowledge-based economy.
DESIGN STUDIO PURPOSE & GOALS
The Design Studio process is the established first step to kick off work in a new STEAM Ecosystem community.
The goals of this Design Studio are to develop:
- a collective vision and ecosystem goals and aspirations
- next steps for the ecosystem including developing an action plan and a core action team
