Creating Your Own Salves and Herbal Oils
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to make a simple salve – and a more complex one. We will infuse flowers, leaves, bark and tree resin in oil. As well we will discuss various ways of using medicated oils and salves for healing from moisturizing, to treating burns, wounds and chest congestion and more. You will go home with numerous recipes and the knowledge of how to make more. Workshop participants will leave with two jars of herbal salves and oils.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Julia Hitchcock is a local farmer, providing vegetables for the Mustard Seed, and an herbalist, running a public medicinal garden in Westdale. She has been learning and teaching about the abundant gifts plants and the Earth have to share with us for many years.

Tickets are sold online only on a first-come basis up to 10 individuals to ensure the best instructor-to-participant ratio. This workshop will take place in the Co-op Kitchen, please arrive ahead of the workshop start time to sign in.
