Country Kickback at Heritage Park
Western Canada’s rural history comes to life at Heritage Park during Country Kickback, Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This fun-filled salute to agriculture includes hands-on activities, live entertainment, games and a variety of demonstrations.
Try your hand at rope making, barn board branding and hand-cranking old-fashioned ice-cream. Spin your partner round at a barn dance and visit the critters at the Butterfield Acres petting zoo. Gather a team and compete in the Kickback Challenge. Complete a series of fun activities including a bucket brigade, a lassoing challenge and an egg-find race for your chance to win great prizes!
Enjoy lively entertainment throughout the day, courtesy of the Chinook Country Line Dancers and the Prairie Mountain Fiddlers.
Make sure to visit the demonstrations and beautiful displays of needlepoint, quilting, lace and rug making by the Chinook Guild of Fibre Arts. Watch antique steam-powered farm equipment at work threshing and baling in the wheat field, cheer on the “fastest” tractor at the slow tractor races, and don’t miss the wheat grinding demonstrations and small engine display courtesy of Engine Utopia.
Country Kickback activities run from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. August 24 and 25. Regular Heritage Park admission rates apply. Children 3-6, $13.65, youth 7-15, $18.95, adults $26.50 and seniors $20.70.
