On Sunday, September 25, the David Suzuki Foundation, The Laneway Project, Bells on Bloor and Friends of Christie Pits Park will co-host Toronto’s first #CRAWLFEST.

This event combines the fourth annual Homegrown Park Crawl, second annual Laneway Crawl, fifth annual Christie Pits Arts Crawl and ninth Bells on Bloor bike parade.

CHRISTIE CRAWLFEST will bring thousands of residents into Christie Pits Park and the surrounding laneways and bike lanes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will include musical acts — such as a parade led by the Lemon Bucket Orkestra — food, drink, art, community groups and kids’ activities.

The day will kick off at 10 a.m. with a pop-up art market with 50+ vendors. At 11 a.m., Bells on Bloor will lead a victory lap bike parade around the Bloor Street bike lane. From noon to 6 p.m. there will be food and drink from local vendors. From 11 a.m., there will be art, dance and music in Willowvale Lane, just north of the park. At 1 p.m., the Lemon Bucket Orkestra will lead a musical parade to the laneway and back. The rest of the afternoon will be filled with music, food, fun activities.

Admission is free. Food tickets are $5 per portion. They can be used at any #CRAWLFEST vendor, including Pizzeria Libretto, Banjara Indian Cuisine, Frank Restaurant, Coffee Public and The County General. Drink vendors include Steam Whistle Brewing and Southbrook Vineyards.

A limited number of food tickets will be available in advance, $25 for five tickets at www.universe.com/crawlfest

During the event, food will be first-come, first-served. Each vendor has a limited number of servings. Food tickets are non-refundable.

Beer and wine costs $5 (cash only, on-site). Food tickets can't be exchanged for alcohol.

Proceeds from food and drink tickets go to the David Suzuki Foundation's Homegrown National Park Project, which is tapping local ingenuity to find creative ways to bring nature home to the city.

Please bring your own plates and mugs. This is a rain-or-shine event, so dress for the weather.

You could win a bike courtesy of Cycle Couture and Dandyhorse Magazine. Stop by the Dandyhorse table, pick up a free copy of the latest issue and buy a raffle ticket for $5 to win a beautiful PUBLIC bike. Raffle at 5 p.m. at the Dandyhorse table!
