Are rights and freedoms your thing? Keen to increase your activism skills and hone your ability to advocate for positive social/political change? Interested in the frontiers of civil liberties battles in Canada, such as the intersection between emerging technologies, government surveillance, and privacy? Want to spend time engaging with and learning from some of Canada’s foremost constitutional law experts and exploring the complex legal issues the Canadian Civil Liberties Association's legal directors are currently thinking about?
If your answers are yes, then Camp CCLA is for you! Building on the CCLA's 50+ years as Canada’s leading civil liberties defender and educator, summer 2020 sees the launch of Camp CCLA. Led by CCLA’s education and legal experts and law student staff, Camp CCLA will provide you with an immersive, highly engaging learning experience.
Offering two one-week modules, pick the one you are most interested in or come to both! Hosted at Ryerson University, Camp CCLA gives you the added benefit of real-life university campus experience.
Each week includes interactive learning activities, small-group exercises, guest lectures with invited experts from the legal and community sectors, at least one field-trip, and an over-arching week-long project.
