Cabled Hug Mittens - December 2019
Here at Good Fibrations, we are trying to do our part to reduce and reuse. We use paper instead of plastic whenever possible and encourage people to bring their own bags. As of Sept 1, 2019, we will be asking people to please either bring a reusable drink container to classes, or to feel free to use our beautiful pottery mugs and enjoy free tea and coffee that we always provide. Anyone bringing food to class, please take home all containers and wrappers. Just to add a carrot to this stick, we are putting everyone's name in for a draw on a fabulous Feel Good Store Kleen Kanteen.
Instructor: Andrea Arbour
Difficulty level: Intermediate (must be able to cast on, knit, purl and bind off)
Date: December 3, 10 and 17, 7-9pm (this class runs over 3 weeks, with homework to be completed between classes)
Max class size: 8
Course fee: $80 (includes materials and equipment)
In this course, you will learn how knit cabled mittens on double pointed needles. These are designed to fit a medium adult-sized hand. You'll be knitting these mittens with wool made in a small mill in New Hampshire (Hampton Fibre Mill). Please drop by the shop before the class to pick the colour you'd like (so we can have it balled and ready for the class).
The price of the class includes the yarn, knittings needles and cable needle. Extra notions required to complete the mittens will be available for use during the class.
About the Instructor:
Andrea is a Graphic Designer and knitting addict. She grew up in a crafting household, and while she has always spent time drawing and painting, she didn’t attempt knitting until 2008. She has a Bachelor of Design (Honors) from NSCAD, and has put some of the design principles that she has learned to work when designing her own patterns for knitted accessories. She loves sharing her love of knitting with others!
