First annual Winterfest Brunch hosted by Chef Shane McCartney of Salt Lick Smokehouse and Bar Sazerac
Delighting all five senses this winter, Hamilton Winterfest presents the first annual Winterfest Brunch, brought to you by the awesome talents of Chef Shane McCartney, owner of Hamilton’s Saltlick Smokehouse and Bar Sazerac.
On Family Day, at the Hamilton Waterfront Trust Centre – looking out over the serene Burlington Bay – this epic Hamilton brunch will bring some heat to the cold days of February. Though it starts bright and early at 9 AM, feel free to drop any time until 3 PM.
Featuring classic breakfast standbys like eggs, bacon, and sausages, McCartney will also bring the flair his food is known for by including on the menu a full, 18 to 24 hour Carolina style smoked hog, Cornmeal Johnnycakes, hot-chocolate from scratch, as well as winter and breakfast cocktails by his expert mixers from Bar Sazerac.
When it comes to cooking and culinary events, community isn’t just an interest of McCartney’s, it’s a passion. With all ingredients sourced as fresh and local as possible from small-businesses and local providers, this community-focused brunch event will also feature live-entertainment, indoor harvest tables and outdoor firepits for building that celebratory, family feel McCartney characteristically brings to all he’s involved with.
Citing memories of the big, country Fireman’s Breakfasts he grew up with, or the fun community brunches he currently loves in his home of St. Williams, Ontario, McCartney will be serving up the warmth of family, friends, and very full belly to Winterfest this February.
